On this page you’ll find Robins learning web for each term. This will give you an overview on what your child will be learning in each subject. Why not ask your child what they have been up to? Along with this will be their home learning web. This is a great opportunity for you to support your child with consolidating their learning skills from the classroom at home. The children will be awarded house points for every piece of learning they complete.
On Tuesdays, Robins have their P.E lesson with Coach Becky. It is important that the children arrive in full school P.E kit. Burley P.E Top, shorts or green jogging bottoms along with a plain trainer shoe or plimsoll. The children will need to change into their school uniforms for their afternoon learning so please ensure that full school uniform is brought into school as well!
Please can I kindly remind you that if your child is bringing in their own break time snack that it is a healthy snack option. For example a favoured piece of fruit or carrot batons. We do offer every child a choice of a fruit or veg snack that is delivered fresh each day. The children participate in a lot of active learning therefore, can you please ensure that your child brings in a labelled drink of water into school every day!
Open door Wednesday – all parents are welcome to join the robin’s class with their morning table jobs. This is a great opportunity to support your child with their current learning and to see how they are using the resources to support their learning journey.
Reading is a big focus across the federation. Your support with this would be appreciated. Please encourage your children to read at home to support a love of reading a wide variety of texts. Please question your child on what they have just read to help with their comprehension skills. Along with this we are putting emphasis on working hard to have rapid recall of our times tables! The children need to be able to count in steps of 2s, 5s, 10s and 3s and recall the multiplication facts of these numbers. You can do this online through Rock star times tables, hit the button or by just chanting these sequences out loud. Don’t forget to log onto My Maths for extra home learning of skills taught.
If you would like to come and discuss your child’s learning with me then please book an appointment with the office staff to avoid morning door catch ups. It is important to ensure the children are having a prompt and positive start to their learning day! Any medical issues should be given to the office on drop off so that they can notify the designated first aiders.
